Apple will deploy a brand new iOS 17 update to iPhones at the end of 2023, and like every year, some models will no longer be eligible. You are given a list of devices that should receive the update.
Who says new year says new major iOS update, and in 2023, it will be iOS 17's turn to improve the user experience for iPhone owners. However, as usual, not all devices on the market will be eligible, some will be forced to stay on iOS 16, the current update which has just received a new version bringing many new features.
With iOS 16, Apple had abandoned its iPhone 6s, iPhone 7 and iPhone SE, and this year, it is no surprise that the following models should be scrapped. THE FIRST IPHONE WITH A NOTCH DISCONTINUED BY APPLE
In 2017, Apple followed the trend initiated by a few manufacturers at Android by unveiling its own smartphone with a notch at the top of the screen: the iPhone X. It is he who should be abandoned by Apple this year. The design of the devices will ultimately have changed little since then, the American manufacturer still offering models with a notch to this day, including the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus.
The iPhone X will not be the only one not eligible for the update, since the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, which were released in the same year, should not benefit from the new version of the operating system either. . If this rumor is correct, iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 would be incompatible with most devices with the A11 Bionic chip or older, except the sixth and seventh generation iPads with the A10 Fusion chip and the iPad Pro. second-generation 10.5- and 12.9-inch models featuring the A10X Fusion chip.
