How to clean and disinfect your home?

In anticipation of the start of the school year, there is nothing better than a big cleaning carried out in the four corners of the house! That's why we wanted to recap grandma's best tips for maintaining and disinfecting the house.

DISINFECTING THE HOUSE

After tidying up the house, make sure that it is disinfected. Here are the dirtiest places in the house that must be purified as a priority to avoid the proliferation of bacteria: the toilet, the bathtub, the sink and finally the door handles. With the help of lemon, baking soda, vinegar or household products sold in stores, these ill-reputed pieces will be as good as new. Just rub well and as regularly as possible!

WHAT ARE THE STEPS TO DUST THE HOUSE?

WHAT ARE THE STEPS TO DUST THE HOUSE?

  • Dusting the mouldings

On the hills, very gently run a brush with very soft bristles. The plaster is porous, so don't press too hard, otherwise the dust could become encrusted. For the intaglio details, prefer a fine brush.

  • An effective dust cloth

Moisten a cloth with a mixture of vinegar and paraffin in equal proportions. When using it, don't forget to put on gloves. Store it in an airtight container.

  • Creating a substitute chamois

The chamois makes metal objects shine. Don't have one? Polish your objects with a floured cloth.

  • Dusting the books

To wipe the edges of books, prefer a small soft brush or a brush rather than a cloth that could cause dust to penetrate between the pages.

  • Dusting off Plexiglas

Never remove dust from this material, which is very fragile, with a dry cloth at the risk of scratching it. Use a sponge or chamois soaked in water with a few drops of detergent added. Occasionally, prefer an antistatic product (such as Pliz) to remove dust. Spray the product on a soft cloth.
